I RAN FOR KNESSET (Israeli Parliament) - what about YOU?

I had been involved in the Green Party in the U.S. for years, unfortunately the U.S. Green Party has become totally corrupted and anti-semitic. But the closest I came to an election was trudging door-to-door with campaign fliers for a schoolboard campaign, in which we won a seat in SF a few years ago. I also worked with NORML in Tucson, Arizona, and through NORML had the chance to lobby the public on referendum issues that affected my own privacy rights.

In Israel I have had much more opportunity to change things with the environment. If you take a peek at my Israeli Environmentalism tribe, you'll see we've had a modicum of success in preserving nature sites from massive development. I've become involved as well in the Green Leaf party, a party advocating environment and legalization of marijuana. Ale Yarok (Green Leaf in Hebrew) almost got into Knesset this year, and though I was only #14 on the party list, I was one of the few American citizens to have ever run for Israeli Parliament. During the course of our campaign and year-long activities, I have had the opportunity to lobby the public and work with the media on a grander scale than I ever even witnessed in the U.S. Feel free to join Ale Yarok's English forum:

It is quite a delectable talent, I would like to share with the group if I may?

You see, in order to be an effective dictator you must cultivate your subjects to your bosom, and caress their ego with subtle manipulation. THEN, once you have initiated yourself to their village you must find their spiritual leader for a meeting of the minds. After making contact with said pre-eminence you are obligated to give him/her an ultimatum. Either join your benevolent rule or suffer.

In most cases, I chose the latter- taking the privelege of disposing of my enemies in the most hideous fashion. The more grotesque the murder the BETTER. In that way, the riffraff will never have the courage to rise up against you. Instead, they shall be so paralyzed with fear that any token gesture of goodwill on your part will engender the kind of loyalty that can't be bought.

Any thoughts?

i think every person should be required to do something every year to make the world a better place, or they get moved down a notch on the economic ladder - with an exception given to people who are starving or suffering in such a way that it's truly a struggle to stay alive.

also, we've gotta bring back the smart people. know what i'm saying? and get them all together online to talk about how they're making the world a better place, what they're doing and what they're writing and what art they're creating. i mean, everyone can go to university now, but are we really striving for higher levels of enlightenment, education and understanding? who are the geniuses of our day? Marijuana Legalization

Marijuana is now LEGAL for everyone in my kingdom. Therefore kynd brownies may be sold in regular cafes nationwide. Recipe to follow:

Take a minimum of one half ounce of good green nugs and toss in your clean coffee grinder. Grind to a fine powder.

Using a rubber spatula, carefully scrape all powder into a frying pan. Measure the quantity of soybean/vegetable oil that your favorite brownie recipe (or box mix, i know you're lazy, you know you're lazy, betty crocker also knows you're lazy!) calls for and pour it into the pan. Simmer for one hour on low heat, then cool.

Mix all other brownie ingredients in a bowl, add oil to mix.

Grease a brownie pan, preheat the oven, and go forth as your recipe suggests.

Cut small portions, eat one yourself, then determine how high you are. If you're so high you pass out, cut the portions in halves once again, but if you're not all that high then allow your guests two of the original small portions.

1. If you call and the phone is not answered, leave a message if what you called about is important. Under *no* circumstances should you call back every 5 minutes in lieu of leaving a message.

2. If you left a message, DO NOT keep calling to see if the message was received! Wait for a response - even if it takes days.

3. When leaving a message, give the recipient some idea of what it is you want to talk about. Leaving a message that simply says "call me - I need to talk to you" is punishable by something truly horrible.

4. Never, ever call before 9AM on weekend mornings.

I'd like to establish a global vote, so that every resident of planet earth gets to vote on all issues pertaining to the survival of the human species. Thus suicide-through-apocalypse is not thrust on anyone.

To accomplish this we'll need to set up the Global Vote Foundation, which will install computers in every post office in the world, with assistants in many places (available during limited hours as they'd likely be volunteers) for illiterate folks. Yes, illiterate people should vote too! I'm talking real democracy here.

is a world in which inhabitants improvise scenes in theatresports-type games given to them by the leader/ruler. They might be asked to sing about another citizen, speak only in questions, become weird superheroes, or guess at bizarre quirks.

The leader/ruler is Clive Anderson and is joined by regular team captains John Sessions and Stephen Fry. Colin Sell provides the improvised music. Mysterious "points" are awarded and a seemingly random winner selected.

Common citizens that participate include Greg Proops, Josie Lawrence, Brad Sherwood, Paul Merton, Sandi Toksvig, Mike McShane, Chip Esten, Tony Slattery and Steve Frost, as well as Colin Mochrie.

Everyone is encouraged to participate and laughing wildly is encouraged!

K-Mart is haute couture, AC/DC is still the best jam to listen to in your beat up Camaro, Christmas means an extra bag o' weed, your not a *real* man unless you have at least two cars in your yard that are NOT running, the darker the roots, the hotter the chic, "get in the truck bitch" is the closest thing to foreplay a woman can hope for and you can find WWF on every pawn shop tv set on the block!

The world would be a better place if we all knew how to dress for it. Fashion should be the highest priority in everyone’s agendas. I’m not saying we should not all have individual style, but if I think it’s ugly, it’s gotta go.

We will start by implementing a rigorous fashion education program in the public school systems from kindergarten. Every third grader will know not only what chartreuse charmeuse is, but be able to say it 5 times fast.

Other arts to be taught in the education system: how to get in and out of cars gracefully, how to be fashionably late and not just plain tardy, and the fine art of the air kiss.

All existing world religions and associated iconography will be obliterated. I mean, God is good and all, but clothing as punishment for original sin? That shit don’t fly here. We will all worship at the dual altars of Madeleine Vionnet and Cristobal Balenciaga. They have both been dead for sufficient periods of time where the worship won’t go to their heads.

Citizens will be taxed according to fashion offences. The amount of taxes you pay will be inversely proportionate to the fashion offences on makes throughout the course of the calendar year. You cannot cheat on your taxes--the fashion police are everywhere!

All citizens will be required to strut like supermodels at all times. Head high, shoulders back, hips cocked. Nuns, after their conversion to the new religion, will roam the streets with rulers and correct postures.

Humans should henceforth be genetically mutated so they fit the 10-head, 40-60 torso-leg ratio of the perfect fashion figure. Which brings up the point of breeding. You will not be allowed to breed unless you have your maternity wardrobe all planned out and pre-approved by the Department of Pregnancy Fashion Fascists.

Humans will also be genetically re-engineered so that bruises will not turn blue and purple but brown and green instead. Varicose veins will be green as well.

Which brings up the most important issue of all. There will be no purple. There will be no prior discussion. If Munsell didn’t think it necessary, I don’t feel like I should acknowledge it either.

If you feel you must wear purple, you must get a special permit. You must first sleep with me and if you’re good enough, I will grant you permission. We’re talking fireworks here, people. You must then get a special barcode tattoo on the inside of your wrist, which the Purple Police (the navy seals equivalent department of the Fashion Police) can scan with special taggers. If you’re not good enough, you will be executed.

Aforementioned Purple Police has rights to break into your household, check for purple-wearing permits, and verify that people are not secretly lounging about in purple pajamas in their homes. Upon discovery of unlicensed purple-wearing, the offending citizen will be executed.

The Purple Police will also roam the streets, checking for people wearing jackets with purple linings, purple underwear or socks, or attempting to hide their purple shoelaces. Higher ranking purple police will be allowed to do random strip searches to check for hidden purple piercings or tattoos. Upon discovery of unlicensed purple wearing, the offending citizen will be executed.

Will I bothered by all the bloodshed? No. And why should I be? Blood is red, not purple.
